Economic Development Study Recommendations

The Economic Development Study Recommendations are the means by which Arlington can overcome existing economic threats and maximize its resources to achieve short-term and long-term prosperity; they will serve to define the goals and action steps needed to produce effective results for the city of Arlington. Developing the Study Recommendations will bring together all other parts of the planning process to date and provide a blueprint for the community’s future actions.

The basis of the Study will emerge from the findings of the Current Realities profile, stakeholder input process, and Target Cluster Review. Based on Market Street’s research and the feedback from the Steering Committee, the Study will incorporate new programs and techniques that will allow Arlington to upgrade and expand its business recruitment, retention, entrepreneurship, and community improvements efforts, as well as address any priority needs identified in the research component of the strategy development process.

The Study Recommendations will focus on Arlington stakeholders and economic development professionals collectively on achievable and sustainable future growth. The Study will provide the framework to allow Arlington to maintain and strengthen these successes, and continue its national prominence well into the future. When this project is complete, Arlington will have a clear economic development action plan, with priorities and benchmarks to guide future efforts.
