Tax Abatement



A tax abatement is the full or partial exemption from ad valorem taxes on the value added to real property or new business personal property for a period of up to ten years and an amount of up to 90%. Specific levels of abatement will be determined by the size, scope and location of the project. Eligible properties must be located in a reinvestment zone and all agreements must be approved by City Council. 

The following table will provide an overview of the investment and job creation required to reach certain incentive levels, however the actula percentage of taxes abated and the duration of the abatement may vary based on a determination by the City Council.

Must show Arlington Contractors and/or Certified Minority/Women-Owned Contractors are utilized for a minimum of 30% of the total costs for the project's Construction, Supply and Service Expenses

Arlington Center is Largest LEED Gold Core Project in Texas

The 1.16 Million SF Pioneer 360 Business Center in Arlington, Texas has been certified a LEED Gold Core & Shell industrial project. This is one of the first industrial projects in Texas to achieve this certification, and is the largest industrial project to do so.

The UT Board of Regents approved plans to construct a 190,000 sq. ft. events center with seating capacity for 6,500 on the NE side of the campus. Construction of the $73 million project is expected to be completed in 2012.
